FEDERAL MINISER HANDED OVER DONATION CHEQUE TO CHIEF MINISTER SINDH.


KARACHI MAY 28: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Information Technology Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira today presented donation Cheque of Rs.10.00 million to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at Chief Minister House. The donation has been given by Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council for the flood affected people of Sindh.
Sindh Minister for Revenue & Relief Syed Murad Ali Shah, Mr. Abdul Kadir Patel MNA and Mr. Meer Hasan Khoso MPA were also present.

MR. WAQAS MALIK APPOINTED AS ADVISOR TO CHIEF MINISTER SINDH.

KARACHI MAY 28: The Governor of Sindh, on the advice of the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has appointed Mr. Waqar Malik, as Advisor to Chief Minister, Sindh with immediate effect.
Mr. Waqas Malik is one of the senior and active leader of Pakistan Peoples Party. He is working as Vice President of PPP United Kingdom and also the member of Federal Council of PPP. Recently, his elder brother Azam Malik, Chairman Ship Breakers Association, was assassinated in an incident.

9-MEMBER NORWAYGIAN DOCTORS DELEGATION MET C.M SINDH.

KARACHI MAY 28: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has expressed grave concern on increasing mortality rate of Women in Sindh province in comparison to the provinces of Punjab and NWFP, and has directed the authorities of Health Department to adopt all precautionary and preventive measures so as to decrease the mortality of women. This he said during a briefing of a delegation of 9-doctors of Norway belonging UNDP, who met with Chief Minister at Chief Minister House.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah maintained that the causes of mortality including deficit of food, lack of proper treatment, use of injurious drugs etc be watched and content vigilance be evolved so as to eradicate this menace. Chief Minister Sindh fully supported the UNDP programme for treatment and care of women in Sindh and assured that he will personally supervise the process and progress of scheme. He also assured a joint meeting of all concerned departments and persons will be held soon to chalk-out strategy in this regard.
Earlier, the participants of delegation highlighted the facts & figures of the programme. It was informed that Norway doctors team under UNDP system will ensure follow up and implementation of Mother & Child Health Care under MMCH project, and added that together with training programme of L.H.V’s, provision of medicines, equipments will be ensured, and said that an amount of $ 50 million will be provided for this 5-year programme. It was informed that an allocation of Rs.10 million will be provided every year and programme will be initiated / implemented in ten (10) worst affected districts of Sindh province, where mortality rate of women is high. The purpose of the same be ensured with the commitment, cooperation and implementation of programme.
The delegation comprised of Dr. Nighat Shah, Madam Naheed Shah, Dr. Asif Aslam (UNISEF), Dr. Shershah Syed, Dr. Ibrahim Elziq, Dr. Rehan Hafiz, Mr. Eric, Miss Garda and Miss Helga.

C.M SINDH RELAXES ONE MONTH BAN ON FISHING.


KARACHI MAY 28: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has relaxed one month ban on fishing in sea and sweet waters of Sindh province w.e.f 1st June 2008 to 30th June, 2008. This he directed after a meeting with Sindh Minister for Fisheries Mr. Zahid Bhurgari and Mr. Abdul Qadir Patel MNA, who apprised the Chief Minister that the livelihood of fishermen depend upon fishing and two month ban on fishing will totally damage the daily business and affairs of poor & needy fishermen. Syed Qaim Ali Shah further assured that the relaxation of ban for another one month period could be decided after reviewing the details.
