A three member delegation of Pakistan Doctors
Association in America led by former President Dr.
Ghulam Murtaza Arain today called on Chief Minister
Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at Chief Minister House.
Chief Minister Sindh informed the Pakistani
doctors working in USA about situation prevailing in
Sindh province due to heavy floods, with the result more
than 7 million people have suffered together with
damages to thousands of houses, inundation of many towns
and villages, damages to bridges, roads, hospitals,
schools, health centers and other infrastructure. Syed
Qaim Ali Shah stressed upon Pakistani doctors,
engineers, technocrats and philanthropists living abroad
to come forward and help the flood affected people while
they should also participate in welfare, health,
educational etc projects aimed at to rehabilitate those
people immediately.
Dr. Arain apprised the Chief Minister Sindh
that the doctors team of APNA will visit flood affected
areas in the middle of December 2010. He informed that
provincial health department will provide medicines of
Anti-biotic, while doctors’ association will distribute
medicines of skin diseases worth Rs. 50 lac and provide
other contingents worth Rs. 50 lac. He further informed
the Chief Minister Sindh that Pakistani doctors in
America will construct one hundred (100) houses worth Rs.
One Crore i.e. Rs. One lac per house.
He further informed that current President
of Association Dr. Manzoor Tariq will soon visit areas
of Thatta, Dadu and Sukkur to provide relief and health
cover to flood affected people.
Those who were present included Dr. Manawar
Jethani, Dr. Jaffer Gulzar, Secretary Health Sindh Mr.
Muhammad Hashim Zaidi and Director General Health
Services Sindh Dr. Capt. G. Sarwar Channa.

A delegation of industrialists and traders led by Mr.
Siraj Qasim Telei called on Chief Minister Sindh Syed
Qaim Ali Shah at C.M House.
The delegation apprised the Chief Minister
Sindh about specific problems faced to industrialists
and businessmen of Karachi particularly performing in
SITE area. They highlighted problems of kidnapping,
theft incidents, mobile snatching, wall chalking,
telephonic threats for providing funds and harassment by
various departments. Mr. Siraj Qasim Telei, Advisor to
C.M for investment Mr. Zubair Motiwala, and other
prominent industrialists highlighted the problems.
Chief Minister Sindh listened to their
problems and directed D.I.G operation (West) Mr. Sultan
Ali Khuwaja to have constant vigilance and watch on
criminal activities in west area particularly the SITE
so as to provide relief the industrial and businessmen
community. Syed Qaim Ali Shah maintained that strict
measures be evolved to curb the activities of criminals
and be apprehended. He directed that six main points of
SITE be fully controlled while the patrolling be
increased with additional police force. Chief Minister
Sindh also directed the Managing Director SITE to
undertake repairs of deteriorated roads in the SITE and
a committee of industrialists / SITE Association will
also coordinate with DIG (Operation) West and M.D (SITE)
for resolving the issues.
Chief Minister Sindh also took notice of
harassment of industrialists by officials of department
of Environment and directed provincial secretary
environment to ensure that no official should harass any
industrialist or trader without any reason, else prompt
legal action will be taken against those involved
persons. D.I.G Police (operations) West informed the
meeting that the directives of Chief Minister Sindh will
be fully implemented and the menace of criminal
activities in SITE will be curbed and efforts will be
made to fully maintain law & order. Managing Director
SITE also assured that the damaged roads of SITE area
will be repaired early. The meeting was also attended by
Advisor to C.M Sindh Mr. Rashid Rabbani, Special
Assistant to C.M Waqar Mehdi, C.C.P.O Karachi Mr. Fayaz
Leghari, Secretary Industries Sindh, Secretary
Environment Mir Hussain Ali and others.
