Corp commander Karachi Lt. gen. shahid iqbal calls on chief minister sindh syed qaim ali shah. 

 

Karachi: September 21:  Corp Commander Karachi Lt. Gen. Shahid Iqbal today called on Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at Chief Minister House. 

            The meeting reviewed the losses & damages of recent flood in the province of Sindh and measures to be evolved for rehabilitation and security of affected people. Corp Commander Karachi informed the Chief Minister Sindh that various organizations had supplied relief good upto 8500 tons. He also discussed issues relating to distribution of relief goods and guidance in this regard. He said that where ever the relief goods have not reached, efforts are being made to distribute the same in those areas. 

            Chief Minister Sindh informed the Corp Commander that provincial Government has constituted a relief committee under Additional Chief Secretary working and coordinating for relief of flood affected people and prominent NGOs, and foreign assisting agencies with their coordination. 

            He added that the Government and armed forces and other institutions are fully efforting for relief assistance and rehabilitation. Chief Minister Sindh appreciated the services being rendered by armed forces for rescue, relief and rehabilitation of affectees of heavy floods particularly in Sindh and reaffirmed that as soon as the flood water recites and flood affected people returns to their homes, the Government and army will jointly do the needful for relief and rehabilitation of affectees and civil and armed forces will also jointly arrange security for them.

chief election commissioner refixes date of poll for Bye-election on October 17, 2010. 

 

Karachi: September 20:  The Chief Election Commissioner in view of the report (dated 17.9.2010) from Home Secretary, Government of Sindh that due to assassination of Dr. Imran Farooq of MQM, the leaders and workers of MQM are currently in the state of grief and have announced a 10-day mourning, has re-fixed the date of Poll for Bye-Election in the aforesaid constituency as 17th October, 2010 instead of 22nd September 2010.

Deputy high commisioner of bangladesh calls of chief minister sindh syed qaim ali shah at c.m house. 

Karachi: September 20:  Deputy High Commissioner of People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Rooh ul Alam Siddiqui today called on Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at Chief Minister House.

 

            He expressed his sorrows on damages and destructions caused by recent heavy floods and assured that Bangladesh will help the affected people of Sindh province. He informed that forty (40) member Medical team of Bangladesh is performing duties and treating the ailing affectees in relief camps of Hyderabad. He further informed that the Government of Bangladesh will provide $2 million for welfare and relief work.

 

            Chief Minister Sindh said that large number of people has been badly affected by floods while various countries and people are fully assisting the flood affected people. He also thanked the Government of Bangladesh for extending assistance for flood affected people of Sindh.
