RS. 4 BILLION BBSYDP TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO ONE LAC YOUTH

JUNE 11: The Government of Sindh has decided to launch
BENAZIR BHUTTO SHAHEED Youth Development Programme in
the Sindh Province w.e.f 1st July 2008 aimed at to undertake
one year training to one lac unskilled/educated youth
and provide them immediate relief by provision of stipend.
This was stated by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali
Shah after holding a high level meeting at Chief Minister
House yesterday.
He said that the programme is being launched at a cost
of Rs.4.00 billion and youth will be imparted training
in 44-different trades and different courses of ranging
from one-month to one year will be arranged for them.
Chief Minister Sindh further informed that the training
would be imparted through public and private sector institutes
with emphasize on quality training and certification.
He further informed that the programme would create linkages
with SMEs, Employment exchange bureaus, Micro Finance
institutes to increase employment opportunities for skilled
youth.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah added that transparent method will
be adopted for the selection of Youth without any discrimination
and minimum stipend of Rs.4000/- will be paid per month
to every selected trainee and international measures will
be adopted.
Earlier, Chief Minster Sindh was presented detailed briefing
on the project, Mr. Shoaib highlighted the silent features
of this programme.

Finance, Livestock, Health, I.T, Labour, Works & Services

OF KARACHI STOCK EXCHANGE CALLS ON CHIEF MINISTER SINDH

JUNE 11: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today
held a meeting with a delegation of Karachi Stock Exchange
at Chief Minister House.
Chief Minister Sindh while talking to them said that stock
exchanges play vital role in strengthening the economy
of the country. He said that it was an endeavour of present
government that no new tax is being levied, as the Sindh
Budget will be friendly budget. Syed Qaim Ali Shah emphasized
that efforts are being made to generate employment for
un-employed youth. He added that maximum incentives will
be given so as to attract foreign and local investment
in the country particularly in Sindh Province. He further
maintained that Present Government while keeping in view
the food crisis emerged on international level, has decided
to provide maximum incentives for promotion and furtherance
of agriculture sector, he added as agriculture is the
back-bone of economy of Sindh Province.
Chief Minister Sindh said that due to progress in the
field of agriculture, the production of eatable commodities,
fruit and pulses will be increased, which is also essential
for needs and demand of industry. He added that more facilities
are being provided for promotion and development of industries
in the province.
He further informed that provincial government will encourage
agro-based industries in the province and do the needful
for enhancing the economic activity, while the people
provided benefits of such actions. Syed Qaim Ali Shah
also added that the poverty level in Sindh Province is
high then Punjab and the provincial government was fully
endeavoring to minimize the poverty, for which schemes
aimed at poverty alleviation are being implemented in
the province. Chief Minister Sindh also underlined the
need to enhance projects & schemes under public-private
partnership for the sound progress of economy. He stressed
upon industrialists and investors to come forward and
have maximum investment in the province.
The Managing Director of Karachi Stock Exchange Mr. Adnan
Afridi and Mr. Arif Habib thanked the Government for providing
incentives for the investments. They assured that intending
investors will be motivated so as to invest in the province
while efforts will be made to erect maximum industries
in the province of Sindh.
The meeting was also attended by Sindh Minister for Revenue
Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senior Member (BOR) Sindh Syed Anwar
Haider, Secretary Finance Sindh Ghulam Ali Pasha, Member

2,25,000 ACRES LAND TO BE DISTRIBUTED AMONG LANDLESS HARIS
SOON – C.M SINDH.

JUNE 09: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has announced
that over 2,25,000 acres land will be soon distributed among
landless haris preferably amongst the lady workers of Hari
Community under land grant policy. This he stated while
presiding over a meeting regarding lifting of ban on grant
of state land amongst haris in accordance with land grant
policies and statement of conditions at Chief Minister House
today.
He said that it has remained our commitment to poor masses
particularly the haris, that they will be given land so
that they may pass their livelihood with respect and honour,
Syed Qaim Ali Shah maintained that first Shaheed Zulfikar
Ali Bhutto distributed land among landless haris, and later
Shaheed Qaid Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto continued the policies
and programme with some incentives. He said that under the
current proposed policy, besides allotment of land, some
incentives like seed, pesticides, land leveling, water course
and Micro-Credit facilities will be provided to those haris.
Chief Minister Sindh further informed that Co-Chairman of
Pakistan Peoples Party Mr. Asif Ali Zardar will launch the
programme probably in the third week of July 2008. Chief
Minister said that under the land distribution programme
over 13,300 families or over one lac persons will be benefited,
with the result there will be remarkable change in socio-economic
conditions and employment opportunities to them. He said
that as per policy, 16-acres of land will given to landless
haris.
Earlier, Member (Land Utilization), Board of Revenue Sindh
Mr. Muhammad Siddiqui Memon presented briefing regarding
grant of land to Hari’s. He also appraised the meeting
about priority and procedure of allotment of land to landless
hari’s.
He informed that the allotment will be made in open katchery,
for which wide publicity will be made. He further said that
Micro Credit facilities will be provided for development
of land together with provision of seed, pesticide, tillage,
leveling, water course, while funding for tube well to group
of hari’s having contiguous land above 100.00 acres.
It was informed that there will be Provincial Coordination
/ Monitoring Committee headed by Provincial Revenue Minister,
and Senior Member BOR will be convener of committee and
Secretary (Land Utilization) BOR will be the Secretary of
Committee and one MNA, two MPA’s, Provincial Secretaries
for Irrigation & Power, Agriculture, representative
of Zarai Tarqiati Bank Ltd. And EDO (Revenue) of concerned
district will be the Members. Besides, District Coordination/Monitoring
Committees will be formed headed by DCO as Convener, while
one MNA and two MPA’s, EDO (Revenue), EDO (Agriculture),
XEN Irrigation concerned, will be the Members.
